last update: 01/09/25
This is a new competition for this season to encourage all teams to complete their league fixtures. It also aims to recognise and reward those teams which do play all (or nearly all) of their league fixtures but finish outside of the winners and runners-up positions.
The team in each league which has the fewest points and has played all (or nearly all of their league fixtures) will be invited to take part in an end of season tournament and play for the ‘Chairman’s Trophy’. (See table below from the 2024-25 season).
Any team(s) which have either had matches awarded against them or do not complete their fixtures will be ineligible for this tournament.
The tournament will be held during Term 6, at a venue to be decided but held after school.
The five teams will play each other in a 'round-robin' format competition. Ten medals will be awarded to the winners and ten medals to the runners-up of this tournament.
Here is an example to help explain how qualification works
In the South League in 2024-25, East Wichel finished in last place. However, because they had 4 unplayed fixtures awarded against them they would have been ineligible to take part, had the 'Chairman's trophy' tournament existed. As you can see, the team with the next lowest number of points was Wanborough with 9 points. Although this included a home win (H/W) awarded to them over East Wichel, their remaining seven fixtures were played and so they would have qualified instead.
